So I recently went on a holiday to Limoges France, while I wont bore you all with endless touristy snaps here are a few of my favourite shots from the loverly rural region. From lakes, catherdrals, castles and runined buildings their are some great locations that while I was away with people I could only capture some of  maybe a return visit is in order one day :P I damaged my SLR while away so are now running around trying to get it fixed, while its still useable a battery that trys to fire across the room every given oppourtuity is not good. Im looking more and more into upgrading my current model too but like all things involving money that might not happen anytime soon.

Went to London to see Jack Johnson and go on the London Eye, had an brill time and thought I’d upload some of my fave touristy pics I took on the trip.

Skyline

So as I move out  of my room with a view in Perry Barr (yes their is such a thing) I thought I would upload one more pic I took at a stupidly early time as I went to bed, I know the new house I’m moving into wont match these kind of views.

Dragon-Fly Photos

While in Fawsley I spotted this big Dragonfly (or Damselfly) if any one can tell me which I’ll buy you a drink….maybe. The little thing didn’t want to stay still so I spent 20 mins running round a field chasing after it, I kept getting close only for it to fly off again. In the end it stopped and gave me a minute to take some photos ( I think I may have knackered it out). I love love love the resulting pictures their some of my favorite I have taken,  I was using the kit lens that came with the Alpha and it did me proud.

Like all pictures but especially these CLICK ON THE IMAGES AND CLICK ON THEM AGAIN FOR THE FULL EFFECT AND SEE THEM LARGE :P

Fawsley – One Of My Favorite Places

So now uni has finished for the year I decided to go home for a few days escaping the countries second biggest city for my rural home town Daventry. One of my favorite places is near by  Fawsely a big country estate that has some of the nicest lakes, fields and trees about. I have never visited it with my camera before so thought I’d go take a walk. These are a selection of the pictures from my visit, though I spent half my time chasing a dragonfly like a mad man (pictures to follow). I walked around the estates lakes and walked by its little church.

The Most Northern Town In England

So after meeting up with a friend at the recent free Rage Against The Machine concert in London we remembered that I had sent him some pictures ages ago for use with a band he was then in.These were the set that I have previously mentioned, I took when I was 16/17 in Berwick Upon Tweed the most northerly town in England on a holiday with a cheap point and click camera. The pictures I had long lost on an old laptop but he still had copies.  I was really excited to see them as i could hardly remember the images when he sent them over to me today.

So here you go some pictures I was taking around five years ago on one of my first little cameras :P

Now Thats What I Call A Sky

Late last night (or Early this morning depending how you look at it), I glanced out my window as I went to bed  at the Perry Barr Skyline. Now usually this is an ok site but nothing to shout about, but this morning as the sun was braking was one of the best skys I can remember. I grabbed my camera and took a few shots, thought I’d post them up so you can all see. Admitedly I’v made the contrast a bit stronger but as can be seen in the final couple of images the sky was breathtaking as it was. The colours and clouds Both looked super dramatic.

To The Lickey Hills Birmingham

So over the weekend I went I went along to the Likey Hills just outside of Birmingham with my girlfriends family, its strange how like the botanical gardens a place so close to the hustle and bussle of Birmingham can feel so far away from it all. The wide angle lens I think does seem to work really well in these places, it gives the images and edge but doesn’t over do it so the images look unnatural. I think I’m getting quite a thing for shooting in woods the dark and spindly trees, winding paths etc. they can all end up looking really dramatic which I love.
